's Hertogenmolens Aarschot
At the end of the ramparts behind het Begijnhof (Beguinage), there has been a water mill complex acting as an island in the river Demer since the 16th century. After a successful, 5-year restoration, the impressive building has been given a new purpose.
's Hertogenmolens Hotel has 25 charming rooms with a soothing view out onto the flowing water. A footbridge along the locks takes you to the brasserie, which boasts a terrace that floats on the Demer for a lovely romantic evening.
